This is all a big deal, being free. That to me is always tremendously exciting, and the fact that I now have a free Reaktor Blocks with these Toybox additions , plus the free VCV Rack, on top of tools like Pd and SuperCollider and TidalCycles means we really have can share synthesis with a vast range of people.
The situation for modules has changed in Reaktor-land recently. As of Reaktor 6. But before we get to that, you can start playing with Toybox stuff even without owning a Reaktor license.

I personally recommend this little gem by James Peck, an amazing VHS degradation suite, which is absolutely free and so useful to pursuit a lo-fi and fluttery sound. We have just scratched the surface of all the possibilities offered by Reaktor with this overview. It is not just about simply the ability to build custom instruments, nor is it just about playing with existing ensembles. Reaktor is more of a sonic, all-embracing world in which we can find sound design tools, weird wonders, processing tools, complex synths, and a complete and intuitive virtual modular system, Blocks, which by itself can be considered as another deep playground.
It requires an Internet connection and a graphics card that supports OpenGL 2. Once installed and activated, the product can be used offline. If you feed it other content it will react differently to the side chain input source like these loops from Damage. If you want different notes just change the MIDI sequence! This makes the whole setup quite versatile as you can feed it all sorts of information from both the melody and side chain audio.
Save for later usage!! Feeding audio into the side chain like before when using Blocks as an instrument can lead to all sorts of interesting results. You could for instance use sounds as modulators for FM oscillators and also the FM inputs on other things.
In fact the Blocks User Library is a fantastic source for expanding what Blocks can do with new and interesting Blocks showing up on a regular basis. Hopefully this has given you some ideas for making your own creations for processing audio in Blocks.
